ECE268: Electric Motor Drives

Analysis of mechanical systems and motor drives. Physics-based models of common types of electric motors; dc, permanent-magnet ac, and induction. Theory of three-phase bridge converters. Average and detailed modeling and simulation of motor drive systems. In some quarters, the course is taught in conjunction with ECE 168. Students cannot receive credit for this course and ECE 168. Prerequisite(s): Enrollment is restricted to graduate students. Students should have knowledge of electric machines that is equivalent to ECE 176.
