CSE136: Cloud Computing
In-depth exploration of distributed systems principles and advanced operating system concepts essential for building and deploying a data center operating system (i.e., a "cloud"). Topics include client-server programming, distributed scheduling, virtualization (VMs, Containers), cloud computing frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker), distributed storage, security in distributed systems, middleware for distributed environments, ubiquitous computing, and applications such as the Internet of Things, web services, big data, and peer-to-peer systems. Taught in conjunction with CSE 239.
Prerequisite(s): CSE 130 and CSE 138. Enrollment is restricted to juniors and seniors.
