BME123L: Long Read Sequencing
Two-credit hands-on course in DNA sequencing, sequence assembly, and gene annotation. Students make use of low-diversity metagenomic samples drawn from environmental locations to follow all steps in sequence and the discovery of prokaryotic and viral life. For students who have already completed sequencing experience in BME 23L, please consult with the instructor prior to enrolling in BME 123L to determine eligibility and course availability. Prerequisite(s): BME 22L, and previous or concurrent enrollment in BME 122H or BME 130.
